Pre-Painted GI Coils & Sheets (PPGI)
Colour-coated PPGI coils and sheets in polyester, SMP or PVDF finishes for roofing, cladding, panels and fencing.
Steel Coils & Sheets · Coated Steel
Hot-dip galvanized GI sheets and coils, plain or profiled, with Z80 – Z275 zinc coating for weather exposure.
Product overview
Galvanized (GI) steel sheet is cold rolled steel hot-dip coated with zinc on both faces, typically Z80 to Z275 g/m², so it resists rust in UAE heat, humidity and coastal air without painting. It is supplied plain, corrugated or profiled.
Zinc coating protects steel in two ways: as a barrier and as a sacrificial layer that corrodes before the steel does. For UAE sites, where humidity and salt accelerate rust, GI sheet is the default material for ducting, hoarding, roofing, trays and any part that is exposed without a paint system.
OGB supplies GI in coil and cut sheet, plain or corrugated, in the coating weights used across the region. Zinc mass, spangle and thickness are confirmed per enquiry.
Characteristics
Coating mass selected to match exposure, from indoor ducting to coastal roofs.
Supplied flat, corrugated or roll-formed to a trapezoidal profile.
Regular spangle or skin-passed finish accepts powder coat and paint systems.

Questions
Z275 means 275 grams of zinc per square metre counting both faces, roughly 20 microns per side. Z80 to Z120 is common for indoor ducting; Z180 to Z275 is specified for exterior roofing, cladding and fencing exposed to the weather.
Zinc corrodes slowly, so service life is proportional to coating mass and inversely related to humidity and salt exposure. Heavier coatings and painted (PPGI) finishes are used where long exterior life is required. OGB does not publish a fixed lifespan because it depends on the site.
Yes, with care. Welding burns off the zinc locally and produces fumes, so ventilation and a zinc-rich touch-up on the weld are required. Mechanical fixing or rivets avoid the issue on thin gauges.
Yes. Corrugated GI and PPGI sheets are supplied for continuous and discontinuous site fencing together with the pipes, channels and couplers that frame them. See PPGI Corrugated Fence in the fencing range.
