Temperature-Controlled Spaces

Cold Room Panels

Cold room wall panels and cold storage panels with insulated cores for food, pharmaceutical and logistics facilities.

Overview

About OGB cold room panels

Cold room panels are insulated panels engineered for temperature-controlled environments: cold rooms, freezer rooms, cold stores, food processing areas and pharmaceutical storage. They use high-performance insulated cores and tight panel joints to maintain stable internal temperatures.

OGB supplies cold room wall panels and cold storage panels, available new and from stock. Panel thickness and core are confirmed according to the design temperature of the room.

Questions

Cold Room Panels: common questions

What are cold room panels made of?

Cold room panels are insulated sandwich panels with a high-performance core, typically PU or PIR foam, between two coated steel facings. The core thickness is selected according to the operating temperature of the room.

How thick should cold room panels be?

Panel thickness depends on the design temperature. Chiller rooms generally use thinner panels than freezer rooms, which require greater insulation. OGB confirms the recommended thickness per enquiry based on the room temperature and size.

What is the difference between cold room panels and standard sandwich panels?

Cold room panels are designed specifically for temperature control: they use higher insulation values, tighter tongue-and-groove or cam-lock joints and hygienic facings suitable for food and pharmaceutical environments. Standard sandwich panels are used for general building envelopes.
