Overview

About OGB aluminium

Aluminium weighs a third of steel, forms its own protective oxide and takes anodized or coil-coated finishes that hold their colour under Gulf sun. OGB supplies extruded aluminium angles for frames, trims and light fabrication.

Alloy, temper, thickness and finish are confirmed per enquiry against ASTM B221 and EN 755.

Questions

Aluminium: common questions

Which aluminium alloy should I use?

6063 for architectural angles and anodized trims, 6061 for structural brackets and frames. OGB confirms the alloy available per enquiry.

Can aluminium and steel be used together?

Yes, but the two metals must be isolated from each other with a coating, tape or nylon washer and fixed with stainless or coated fasteners, otherwise galvanic corrosion attacks the aluminium in damp conditions.
